  1. Password protection, as mentioned above, includes the BIOS and Windows account (admin password). However, this will make you think you have something to hide, restore programs are not readily available, or to show both the passwords in XP, there is a hidden fact that can be connected. It may be useful for downloading encryption software to protect your files, but I Axcrpt many others, and with some serching and reading you will see that it's both free and relevant to their needs, Jim

  2. If you have Windows XP, you can easily password for your account. If you go to Start, then Control Panel, open a window with many different symbols outside. Click the user account that will make the entire bill on the computer. Select your account and should not be a "button" Create a password and then the rest is fairly simple.

Note that the password can be easily circumvented or even re-use, it is not 100% sure. If so, the time to make your computer safe, are required to enter the BIOS password.

Bios, represent the most important inputs and outputs and can be used to bypass the password entered, you have to prevent anyone from entering the BIOS setup. To do this, restart your laptop and, ifits load, press the Delete key. The instructions for setting a BIOS password is one of the links below.

  3. The best way to protect your data is to boot into Windows when in Start, click Control Panel, and then click User Accounts and set up your account with a password. This means that if you know the password when the computer starts to go so far as the application and no more.

    Hope this helps.
